HOSPITALITY STARTER PACK
Separating Hospitality Waste
Cardboard, plastic packaging, food and paper can be a major source of waste for hotels and restaurants. To help make recycling and sorting easier, we provide a wide variety of custom-designed containers for efficient hospitality waste solutions, including internal and external containers that will help your business to adopt an environmentally responsible recycling programme.
Food Waste – is usually the most produced type of waste in the hospitality industry and properly separating waste streams is important in order to avoid cross-contamination. After sorting, food scraps should be collected separately in a dedicated food waste bin/skip using green waste bags.
Dry Mixed Recyclables – should ideally be sorted at source and separated using a yellow coloured bag and then sent to a mixed recycling skip.
General Waste – needs to be kept to an absolute minimum. Once all the above is correctly sorted, any remaining general waste should be put into black or red bags.
